Hot Chocolate

Powder into the the cups "Can we play on your dads computer" three spoons "No, he's working on it" seven marshmallows "My mom threw out my jens cuz they was ripped" remove kettle from burner "Let's play petshop toys" carefully pouring the water into each cup "Mrs. Dingleman is such a mean teacher. I like Mr. Anger" Stir it well so no chocolate bumps are present "When we used to have a pool I could do a handstand underwater" a little cream now to cool it off and make it rich "Yea and I could carry her piggyback but not in real life, but only in the water" Set cups on the table "Rain, bring your friends to the kitchen for the hot chocolate". Lots of shiny smiles.

Hot chocolate! That's what this winter has been missing - I'm getting marshmellows at the store when I go shopping tomorrow.

Don't you love those around the table spontaneous chats? A person needs to store them up for future needed smiles.

Or you can be a jackass and forget to make the hotchocolate when you said you would for future "I suck as a parent" moments.

:)

Written like a snippet of a warm and endearing winter memory.

When I was a kid I used to go to my grandparents after a day of tobogganing at Finn Hill. My grandma always made me hot cocoa so I always attach playing in the snow with cocoa and my grandma. So I wonder who enjoys that steamy brew more; me or the kids.

Perhaps it's an enjoyment that is better shared. Ah Finn Hill! What amazing memories... the thrill of the perceived danger of my toboggan racing past the bottom of the hill, through the parking area and into traffic on Black (Dirt) Rd.

I discovered Mexican hot chocolate a few years ago - I swear it makes one feel all sexy.
It's sold in tablet form and is spiced with cinamon and few other things. You heat milk, break off a chunk off the stuff according to the amount of milk and then whiz it up in a blender...mmmmm.
I've bought two brands here - one is called Abuelita, which I think means Grandma in Spanish.
Anyway, this shit is so good I want to mainline it.

kalimba---dude, super slider snowskates!

Pregnant one, I really want to try that Mexican hc. I am going to scope that out next visit to the big city.

rabfish, not grown up, Where's the fun in that? It's us adults that screw it all up. the kid's have it right.

It's interesting Rabfish, I think that they sound really civil like adults should be. Like they are really listening to each other - like grown up should.
I remember getting my ass killed a couple times on finn hill...what the hell we're we thinking by applying ski wax to the bottom of an already impossibly slippery wooden tobaggan.
Once I got run over (literally) by another toboggan. I think I got some hot chocolate that day - with mini marshmallows! I was bruised all over but pretty proud of myself for surviving the ordeal.
Braid's - you can by the stuff at an of the Spanish markets in Kensington.

Kalimba-They put a big snow fence and hay bales at the bottom of Finn hill now. No longer the thrill of near death experience by crossing the road.

Hey Bones, that would make a great T-shirt.
